Quick Peeks: (Positive Pic Of the Day) PPOD #91: Cliffs Of Moher

***Quick peeks are a group of images to give you an idea of what to expect during your visit.

The Cliffs of Moher is one of Mother Nature’s finest creation. This place is one of the most toured spots and a “must see” if you’re planning a trip to Ireland.

We visited in early April and it was still cold (beanies and medium to heavy jacket cold because of the winds).

It was a cloudy day when we were there. These pictures were taken with an iPhone 5 and it doesn’t do this place justice.

Tip: Bring your best camera in order to capture the beauty of the cliffs. I took these pics with an iPhone5.

Bring good walking shoes. Walking and taking pictures will take about 2 hours.

Tip: Plan a half day trip just to be on the safe side.

We’re glad we brought coffee. It warmed our hands as we enjoyed the view.

At the edge of the picture below is a small structure. This is O’Brien’s Tower. It marks the highest point of the Cliffs of Moher.

Stop at the visitor center and the souvenirs shops before or after your tour. I recommend buying souvenirs at the end so you don’t have to carry it around.

Tips:

  • Best time to visit is around July – August
  • Best time to be here is close to sunset for better pictures (we came early so some shots were against the light).
  • Try booking tickets online instead of buying it here. Sometimes it’s half-off (€4 instead of the regular €8)
  • Poulnabrone dolmen or “hole of the quern stones” is also worth seeing. One of the oldest tombs that dates back to the Neolithic period. (Pic below)
