Writing, talking, working, doing chores, dealing with drama, going to school, being a parent, dating, constantly being on the phone or computer… whatever it is that occupies most of our day… it gets tiring and sometimes overwhelming. Silence is often a much needed break from our hectic schedules. It gives us time to reflect, re-assess, remove, and regain.
Reflection reminds us how we got to where we are and how we came to be who we are. In silence, we can re-assess and re-organize our life. Maybe we need to remove things in our lives that clutter it. Maybe we need to remove toxic people from our lives that poison it. Silence might help us regain the passion we once had or friends we once lost. We might regain the positivity we need or regain the energy to keep pushing on.
Today, I will enjoy the silence. My silence involves sitting on this bench and letting my thoughts rest. I’ll close my eyes and just listen. Hakuna Matata! No worries!
